About the League
The Reconciliation League is an association of colleges and universities committed to identifying, bringing together, and empowering students to become leaders in building bridges across deep differences.
What the League does
the League has created fully funded Reconciliation Fellowships that enable cohorts of Fellows from League schools to come together over several weeks in an immersive program designed to develop in them a capacity to encounter unfamiliar and challenging ideas, to listen to them with humility, to engage in conversation about them across disagreement, and to remain in relationship with cohort members who see the world differently.
The goal is not to erase differences or to produce consensus where there can be none, but rather to cultivate in Fellows the habits, skills, courage, and discipline that will be required for a sustained engagement in spite of differences.
the Reconciliation Fellows return to their campuses and communities as practitioners of reconciliation who have the resilience to keep advancing the League’s ideals even in the face of serious challenges.
And, as lifelong members of a connected Reconciliation Corps, they continue the work of fostering understanding where there is division, engaging in serious conversation where there is distrust, and helping to renew our civic capacity to live productively together.
Our belief is that with the right preparation at the right moment in their lives, Reconciliation Fellows will develop the tools needed to become the leaders who can help the world to mend these fractures.
